Sadhu Singing
The eponymous protagonist of this work is a baul figure singing with a harmonium for accompaniment, a representative of that composite Bhakti-Sufi movement which developed stunningly beautiful poems and songs in eastern India between the 15th and 20th centuries. He appears to be addressing a man and woman who seems to be sunbathing on a beach, even while other figures go about their daily lives in an Epitomic West European town.
